COVID 19 – WARNING

Persons wishing to travel to Thailand for any of the following reasons: business with a work permit (including their family), family reunification, education, studies, medical emergencies, foreigners with a residence certificate, must be provided with :

  1. A certificate of entry issued online only by the Royal Thai Embassy in Bern: https://www.thaiembassy.ch/Content/Embassy/162.html
  2. A visa (the conditions of issue remain unchanged: https://thaiconsulate.ch/visas/visas-non-immigrants/). The visa application can only be submitted after requesting the entry certificate (you will be asked for proof).

For any other reason, no new information is available at this time.

Tourist Visas – Category « TR » , single entry

Tourist Visa Requirements for all passports

    • Passport ( must not expire within 6 months after your travel)
    • 1 Application form of the consulate
    • 2 recent photos taken within the past 6 months
    • 1 Copy of airline ticket (confirmed onward ticket – showing flight into and out of Thailand)
    • Copy of complete bank statement of the last 3 months showing all transactions with minimum balance of CHF 1’000.- at the end of each month per person or CHF 2’000.- per family
    • Visa fee must be paid in cash : CHF 40.-

FOR G7 COUNTRIES : USA, US, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan, please provide further documents as shown below :

    • copy of « C » permit

FOR NON G7 COUNTRIES, EXCEPT SWITZERLAND, please provide further documents as shown below :

    • Letter of Employment signed by employer
    • Hotel booking or invitation letter from accommodation sponsor with his copy of identification and copy of stay permit in Thaïland for foreigners residing in the Kingdom

In case that the applicant’s passport shall be sent back by post, an envelope with applicant’s address and CHF 6.30 of stamps are required.
The Royal Thai Consulate does not accept any responsability for any kind of loss or damage from post service.

Consular officers reserve the right to request additional documents as deemed necessary.
Consular officers assumes the right to deny or grant any type of visa to the applicant.

Tourist Visas – Category « METV» , multiple entries

Tourist Visa Requirements

      • Passport ( must not expire within 6 months after your travel)
      • 1 Application form of the consulate
      • 2 recent photos taken within the past 6 months
      • 1 Copy of airline ticket (confirmed onward ticket – showing flight into Thailand)
      • Letter of Employment in Switzerland signed by employer
      • Evidence of adequate finance (no less than CHF 7’000.- per person for the past 6 months). Copy of bank statement showing all transactions and balance at the end of each month required
      • Hotel booking or invitation letter from accommodation sponsor with his copy of identification and copy of stay permit in Thaïland for foreigners residing in the Kingdom
      • Travel itinerary
      • Visa fee must be paid in cash: CHF 185.-

For non Swiss nationals, please provide further documents as shown below :

      • Copy of « C » permit C

In case that the applicant’s passport shall be sent back by post, an envelope with applicant’s address and CHF 6.30 of stamps are required.

The METV visa will grant travelers multiples entries to Thaïland during a 6 month period, for up to 60 days per entry.
